The problem

Screens are the sneakiest parenting problem of our time.

Parents aren't just irritated by daily screen arguments. They're seeing symptoms of longer-term damage being done: kids who lose the drive to try hard things, to focus and finish tasks, and who have no real sense of who they are away from a screen.

And there's no playbook or previous generation to learn from. The research is still catching up and there's contradictory advice at every turn. So most families end up improvising alone, hoping something finally sticks.

Daylight exists for families that want to live more, connect deeper, and grow up free.

The Daylight Method

Daylight drives lasting change by focusing on three areas at once.

1

Rebuild your kid's interests

Screens can crowd out a kid's curiosity. We help you rediscover what lights your child up and nurture lasting interests.

2

Set boundaries that actually work

You've introduced new rules before and watched them fade. We'll help you build clear, simple boundaries your whole family agrees to, so they actually stick.

3

Tell healthy screen use from harmful

Not all screen time is equal. We help you distinguish healthy use that builds real skills from use that only drains attention.

The goal isn't just less screen time. It's a kid who reclaims their curiosity, focus, and identity and a family that feels more connected.

Who it's for

Daylight is built for families where:

  • Your child is roughly 8 to 12 years old.
  • Screens are a recurring source of tension in your house.
  • You worry about what screens are doing to your child's long-term trajectory.
  • You've already tried limits and tools that didn't stick.
  • You're ready to be actively involved in the plan.

About the pilot

We're running an eight-week pilot with a small group of families, working directly with Dr. Adam across five coaching sessions. While the program normally costs $2,500, it's free for pilot families in exchange for feedback along the way.

About the clinician

Dr. Adam Maher

Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Adam Maher, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than a decade of experience and a father of two. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, a Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver, and trained and worked across community mental health centers, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, private practices, and forensic settings.

Much of his clinical work has involved assessing children for attention and focus concerns, and Daylight has grown out of those observations.
